After completing a technical illustration and design diploma. He worked in his field within the advertising arena doing art direction and design for many years. He also setup DTP studios for the agencies with the aim of training their Art Directors to use the medium properly. During this time he also completed various design projects and assisted Art Directors in various projects.

With a move to Cape Town, he started a company called Maxim Technologies (Cape Town) whose main business focus was to service Advertising Agencies. Services included training of Art Directors and Designers in DTP applications. In his spare time he still dabbled in the odd freelancedesign job.

Krazy Boyz Playtime came about because of Deans advertising background and the need for web and interactive design. Two years later in 1998 Krazy Boyz Playtime merged with The CyberShoppe to form KRAZYBOYZ digital.
